DRINKBarrel Tasting (SF)
Sure, you could go on a chauffeured tour of the region’s vineyards, but you don’t even have to leave town now that quirky, beloved Bonny Doon Vineyard recently opened its Tasting Room & Cellar Door Cafe.
There, culinary superstar Charlie Parker of Manresa and Ubuntu turns
out seasonally driven, local tasting menus. Or pop into the cozy
counter at downtown’s Soif Wine Bar & Merchants to sample local faves and French varietals.

You know how it is when you've been meaning to do something, and then someone else beats you to it? Well, that's how I felt when I received a tweet from Bay Area on the Cheap, telling me that they have already compiled a pretty extensive Bay Area list. I can't vouch for its accuracy, although the web site states that it's a growing list. The Oakland and San Francisco lists are below. I was tempted to hyperlink all of the locations below, but I ran out of time. It would be great if one of you guys could do that and send it to me? Please? Why do I think there's an iPhone app for this?
Btw, props to Bay Area on the Cheap, they do a great a job of delivering info on entertainment deals.

What rock have I been hiding under? Yeah I'm a Dad and a husband, and I work, but what the heck? I don't make it down to the South Bay as often as I used to, especially via highway 280, so maybe I can use that as an excuse for why I thoroughly missed the opening of Rosewood Sand Hill Resort in April. It's easily visible from 280, but from that vantage point perhaps looks more like a nice condominium complex than a high end luxury resort. Well, this place rocks and feels much better than the photos convey.
